GENERAL: Earned three varsity letters for head coach Ray Cassidy...SOPHOMORE: Started behind the plate as Redmond advanced to the regional playoffs...JUNIOR: Starting catcher on varsity squad...SENIOR: Started as the designated hitter…had shoulder surgery July 26 to correct instability in his shoulder…earned first team all-league honors…high school team won KingCo League championship…played for Chaffey Construction during the summer…hit .481 with five home runs, 20 doubles, one triple, 75 hits, and 69 RBI.

FALKENBORG’S WASHINGTON STATE CAREER

FRESHMAN (1998-99): Enrolled at WSU in August...earned offensive MVP honors in the Crimson and Gray World Series in fall practices...redshirt season.

RS-FRESHMAN (1999-00): A reliable designated hitter in his first season, he started 18 games and appeared in 38 games for the year…only start as a position player was at first base against UC-Santa Barbara...recorded his first hit in his first career at-bat at Lewis-Clark State in the season opener...his batting average was good for fourth on the team at .301...a 3-for-3 game against Cal State-Northridge, in which he hit his first career home run, propelled his average from .258 to over .300, and it remained over .300 for 11 consecutive games...batted 1.000 ten times during the season, a mark that spanned across eight different opponents...his .414 on-base-percentage was also fourth on the team...here's how he hit against Pac-10 opponents: ARIZ .333 (1/3), ASU .000 (0/4), CAL .167 (1/6), OSU .375 (3/8), Stanford .000 (0/5), UCLA .333 (1/3), USC .333 (1/3) Washington .333 (1/3)...his monthly hitting averages: January 1.000 (1/1), February .214 (3/14), March .385 (10/26), April .190 (4/21), May .364 (4/11).
