Cougar Women's Soccer Grounds Air Force 3-1

Chippendale has goal and assist.

MISSOULA, Mont. - Washington State's leading scorer Amy Chippendale hit the game-winning goal and added an assist as the Cougars defeated Air Force 3-1 in women's soccer Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (3-4-0) picked up their first road victory of the season and outshot the Falcons 15-11.

Senior forward Tina Walsh (Boise, Idaho) took a touch pass from Chippendale in the 32nd minute and scored her first goal of the year to which gave the Cougars a 1-0 halftime lead.

Chippendale's (Kearny, N.J.) goal in the 49th minute was a soft shot up the middle from 11 yards out. She has a team-high three goals on just seven shots this fall. Freshman forward Karli Silveira (Campbell, Calif.) put WSU ahead 3-0 in the 79th minute as she beat Air Force goalkeeper Erin Munson with a one-on-one move from six-yards out for her first collegiate goal.

The only goal for Air Force came from Meghann McNiff as she knocked in a header off of a corner kick in the last minute of the match.
