Cougars Lose Fist-Fight with Montana, 4-0

Campbell ejected in loss.

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Washington State women's soccer squad lost a fistfight to Montana Friday. Literally.

Cougar freshman defender Kerie Baker (Boise, Idaho) and freshman forward Jodi Campbell (Seattle, Wash.) of the Griz tangled in the 54th minute. Campbell was ejected for landing a punch. Then Montana (4-4-0), playing shorthanded, proceeded to reel off four straight goals to dump the visiting Cougars by a score of 4-0 during a rainstorm.

Senior midfielder Courtney Mathieson scored one goal and added two assists for the Griz.

The Cougars (2-4-0) complete their weekend Saturday with a 1 p.m. PST match with Air Force (4-4-0).
