WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State's Marisa Stotler has been named an All-Pac-10 Freshman Honorable Mention, it was announced Thursday.
Stotler has appeared in all 28 games for the Cougar, starting 17 of those matches. She currently leads Washington State in scoring with 10.3 ppg and has scored in double digits 13 times this season. In addition, she posted three double-double performances in four games during the month of November. Her first double-double came Nov. 22 at Portland when she put up 13 points and 11 rebounds. Stotler followed that with her second double-double of the season with a season-high 25 points and 10 rebounds at Santa Clara Nov. 25. Just two games later, she posted 24 points and a season-high 14 rebounds against Eastern Washington Dec. 2.
On the defensive end, Stotler leads the team in steals with 50 and currently ranks eighth in the Pac-10 with 1.79 steals per game. She has recorded a season-high five steals twice this season (Dec. 2 vs. Eastern Washington; Jan. 13 vs. Stanford). Stotler now ranks fifth on WSU's single-game steals list.
WSU opens the first round of the 2007 State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament Friday at 6:00 p.m. against seventh-seeded UCLA. All tournament games will be held at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. Cougar fans can hear the action live on Border 104.3 FM with broadcaster Steve Grubbs.
