This Week: The Washington State University women's golf team will host the fourth-annual Cougar Cup at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash., Sept. 19-20. The team will play 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday. Both days will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Results following each day of competition will be posted to www.wsucougars.com. Live nine-hole scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
The Course: The Palouse Ridge Golf Club will play at 6, 278 yards and a par 72 for the tournament.
The Field: Joining the Cougars in the 13-team field are Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, Oregon State, Portland State, Sacramento State, Stanford, UC Irvine, and Washington.
Last Week: The Cougars took the title by nine strokes at the Gonzaga-hosted Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational. The win was WSU's first of the 2011-12 campaign and the first win since the 2010 Cougar Cup. Senior Kristen Allard finished tied for fifth with a 225 (+9) to lead the Cougars.
Up Next: The WSU women's golf team will travel to Sammamish, Wash. for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, Oct. 3-5. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Washington.
