TEMPE, Ariz. - The Washington State men's golf team moved up a spot during the final round of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational. The Cougars posted a team score of 883 at the par-71, 7,057 yard Karsten Golf Course to finished tied for 12th.

For the second day in a row, junior Trent Sanders led the Cougars and finished tied for seventh carding a 70 (-1) in the final round.

Senior Nick Ellis also went under-par Sunday, carding a third-round score of 70 (-1). Ellis finished tied for 49th along with freshman Kent Hagen who also carded his lowest round of the tournament.

"We played better today and caught San Jose and beat several teams on today's round. Trent (Sanders) had a fantastic tournament and finished top 10 in a very strong field," said Head Coach Walt Williams. "Nick (Ellis) had a great round of 70 today as well. I think we are still improving, right along with the weather."

Sophomore Hank Frame and redshirt junior Chris Kneen finished in the final two spots for the Cougars. Frame and Kneed posted a 229 and 232.

Next up, the team heads to Provost, Utah to compete in the PING Cougar Classic, April 15-16.
