SEATTLE - Angie Crivello scored one goal and assisted another to give the Washington women's soccer squad a 2-0 victory over Washington State Sunday afternoon in front of 1,198 at Husky Soccer Field.
WSU (7-9-0, 2-5-0 Pac-10) lost its fifth straight match and fourth in a row by way of shutout. The Huskies (7-10-0, 5-2-0 Pac-10) have won the last four meetings with the Cougars, all shutouts.
The Cougars struggled offensively as UW outshot the visitors 21-1. Junior Randi Glas (Grand Forks, N.D.) was credited with WSU's only shot. Her attempt came in the 70th minute from 15 yards out.
Crivello scored in the 25th minute after a long ball from freshman Dee Behler. Crivello settled the ball after a scramble in front of the goalmouth and nailed a shot from seven yards away.
In the 58th minute, Crivello sent a cross to freshman Theresa Wagner, who volleyed the ball from 15 yards out past WSU freshman goalkeeper Shannon Wilson (Las Vegas, Nevada).
Wilson finished with six saves. Goalkeepers Leslie Weeks and Gretchen Mensinger combined for UW's sixth shutout of the season.
WSU ends its season next weekend at USC Nov. 7 and at UCLA Nov. 9.
