PACIFIC-10 MEN'S BASKETBALL MEDIA DAY

WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH Tony Bennett QUOTES

(On the team)
"We have some experience but I wouldn't call us a veteran team. When we're healthy we're a bit deeper than we have been in the past. We have some guys like Kyle Weaver, Derrick Low and Robbie Cowgill who have played in the program for two years so I think that our strength is in our experience and our quality depth."

(On Cougars' point guard situation)
"One of our players who transferred is Taylor Rochestie from Tulane. He is recovering from a pretty serious knee injury. He is a crafty player. As he gets healthy he can play the one. Mac Hopson is a transfer from North Idaho College and is a true point guard. Derrick Low is more of a combo guard. A lot of coaches like to have two point guards on the floor."

(On taking over for his dad, Dick Bennett)
"The blueprint is there. He [Dick Bennett] made us competitive with his style and approach. I do believe when your players mature you can become more effective in some areas. Hopefully we can be more opportunistic and score some baskets in transition."
