COUGARS HOST HUSKIES: Washington State hosts Washington in a three-game Pacific-10 Conference series to wrap up the regular season, May 22-24...Cougars (28-23, 16-8 Pac-10) are in second place in the Pac-10, two games ahead of UCLA and three ahead of Oregon State and Washington...game times are 5:30 p.m., Friday, 2 p.m., Saturday and noon, Sunday.

PAC-10 SCENARIOS: Washington State can still tie for a share of the Pac-10 title, or finish as low as tied for third in the Pac-10 standings...Cougars would have to sweep Washington and have UCLA sweep three games at Arizona State to tie for the conference title...Sun Devils would still earn the Pac-10's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship bases on a series win over the Cougars, April 10-12...WSU clinches second outright with at least two wins or at least one win and one UCLA loss...Cougars clinch a tie for second with one win or at least two UCLA losses...WSU ties for third if it is swept by Washington and the Bruins sweep Arizona State.

ABOUT WASHINGTON: The Huskies (25-27, 13-11 Pac-10) are tied with Oregon State for fourth place in the conference...Washington is batting .268 as a team with a 4.76 earned run average.

SERIES AGAINST THE HUSKIES: Washington State leads 227-179...Huskies have won the last four series and have won six-straight games at Bailey-Brayton Field (three-game sweeps in 2005 and 2007...series dates back to 1901 when Washington State swept three games in Pullman, April 24-26 and the Huskies won two of three meetings in Seattle, May 13-15...the 406 meetings with Washington are the second most for the Cougars against an opponent behind the 413 encounters with Oregon State...the 227 wins over Washington are the second most for WSU against one school behind Idaho (338).
