PULLMAN, Wash. - For those who missed a small note in the Dave Campo story, the new Dallas Cowboy head coach is a former Cougar assistant under Jackie Sherrill in 1976.

Campo came from Pitt with Sherrill after Jim Sweeney resigned following the 1975 season. Campo was WSU's secondary coach for one year, then went with Sherrill back to Pitt when the latter replaced Johnny Majors.

Following graduation from Central Connecticut, Camp coached at New London High, Central Connecticut State, Albany State and Bridgeport before going to Pitt.
