COUGAR VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP HOME MATCHES THIS WEEK: The Washington State volleyball team, 8-20 overall, 1-14 in Pacific-10 Conference action, hosts its final pair of Pac-10 schools this week as Oregon (12-14, 1-13) and Oregon State (9-11, 5-9) come to Bohler Gym for 7 p.m. matches Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18, respectively...in matches against the Ducks and Beavers last month, OSU defeated WSU 3-1 and Oregon swept the Cougs 3-0...first-year Cougar Natalia Owens will be honored pre-game Friday night.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF: Brian Heffernan is in his second season at WSU (13-46 career record)...WSU's assistant coaches are Jody Garry (second year) and Ken Ko (first year).

WATCH COACH HEFFERNAN: Every Tuesday afternoon during the volleyball season, beginning at 1:20 p.m. PT, WSU Head Coach Brian Heffernan is part of the teleconference with a LIVE video broadcast on the WSU internet site of www.wsucougars.com.

COUGARS AT HUSKIES TO BE TELEVISED LIVE: Fox Sports Northwest will broadcast the Washington State at Washington match Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. from Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion...announcers for the match are Cara Capuano and Karch Kiraly.

ABOUT OREGON DUCKS (12-14, 1-13) - Oregon scored a non-conference win last week defeating Portland State 3-0 before losing to in-state rivals Oregon State 3-2 (30-28, 30-22, 30-32, 21-30, 17-15)...leading the Ducks is 6-2 Serbian freshman MB Mira Djuric (4.29 kpg - T6th Pac-10, 5.22 ppg - 5th Pac-10, conference leader in aces 0.56 apg)...other notables include senior Kelly Russell (3.59 kpg), and Katie Swoboda (4.65 dpg - 6th Pac-10)...Head Coach Jim Moore (first year at Oregon; 364-170, 17 years career)...LAST TIME - Oregon defeated WSU at Pullman (30-13, 31-33, 30-20, 20-18) Oct. 22, 2005...SERIES RECORD - WSU leads the series 33-29-2 and has a 15-11 record against the Ducks when playing in Pullman, stretching back to 1976.

ABOUT OREGON STATE BEAVERS (9-11, 5-9) - Three of OSU's five Pac-10 wins have come in five-game matches including last week's won at Oregon...OSU is led by 6-0 junior MB Brittany Cahoon (3.19 kpg, .292, 1.10 bpg - 10th Pac-10), Kristin Murray (2.44 dpg), Desma Stovall (8.70 apg - 8th Pac-10), and Karah Rhoades (2.43 dpg)...Head Coach Terry Liskevych (first year at OSU; 274-96, 9 years career)...LAST TIME - Oregon State took a 3-1 win at Pullman, Oct. 21 (30-13, 31-33, 30-20, 30-18)...SERIES RECORD - WSU leads 38-30...OSU has won the past five meetings with WSU but the Cougars have a 15-4 record against the Beavers when playing in Pullman.

BLOCKING, BLOCKING, BLOCKING: After 28 matches, the Cougars have a 3.48 bpg average which is the best of the Pac-10 schools...last week's 3.45 bpg was ranked ninth-best nationally with No. 1 Nebraska's 4.25 bpg leading the nation...three players average more than one block per game: Jen Barcus (1.32 bpg) and Natalia Owens (1.29 bpg), Te'Ara Epps (1.67 bpg - in 63 games)...WSU's 2004 average was 2.35 bpg...2004 national champions Stanford had a 3.32 bpg average.
