Women's Golf in Third Place After Day One at Westbrook Spring Invitational

PEORIA, Ariz. - The WSU women's golf team is in third place after two rounds at the Westbrook Spring Invitational. Kristen Rue and Kristen Allard lead the Cougars, in seventh and eighth place, respectively.

Rue and Allard led the Cougars both carded a two-under 70 in the first round. Rue had six birdies, while Allard had two. In second round action, Rue and Allard both posted a one-under 71. Rue had two birdies and an eagle and Allard had three birdies.

Mallory Kent and Emma Betland each posted 74 (+2), while Ellen Park carded a 76 (+4) in the first round. Kent had four birdies on the first nine holes. In the second round, Betland posted a 75 (+3), while Kent recorded a 76 (+4) Park a 77 (+5).

"We had a great day, I am really proud of the players for staying focused and playing well today," said Head Coach Kelli Kamimura. "They are a talented team and it is exciting to see their hard work pay off."

The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday with a shotgun start. Live stats will be available at golfstat.com.
