PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State men's basketball team will open its season Nov. 23 at 11 a.m., against San Jose State at Friel Court.

Tip-off time was set after FOX Sports Net announced the Apple Cup will be played at 3:30 p.m., the same day.

The men's basketball/football doubleheader marks the first time since 1996 WSU has played a men's basketball game and football game in Pullman the same day.

This year's doubleheader will come six years to the day after the most recent occurrence. In 1996, WSU defeated Boise State 74-69 in basketball and lost 31-24 to Washington on the gridiron in the first overtime game in Cougars' football history.

Fans with a ticket to the football game may present it at the entrance to Beasley Coliseum and receive a $3 admission to the basketball contest.

Parking passes normally used for football will also be good for the basketball opener.
