CORVALLIS, Ore.- Sophomore Amy Eneroth leads the pack of Cougars and sits in a tie for eighth after completing the first two rounds of the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational at the par 72, 6, 271 yard Trysting Tree Golf Club.
The Cougars, who have two women sitting among the top 20, currently sit in fourth place, just seven shots out of second place, with hopes of tracking down Denver who is ten shots up on its closest competitor.
After completing 36-holes of play, Eneroth leads the Cougars after shooting a combined total of 147, ending the day at just three-over par. Freshman Diana Hong also made an impact in her first rounds as a cougar finding herself in a tie for 15th, while junior Brooke Henderson sits tangled in a tie for 25th. Don't count junior Tracy Broders out just yet, as she finished in the top 10 last year at Trysting Tree. Currently she is in a tie for 27th place just four shots out of the top 25.
Heading into Tuesday's final round, freshman Mandy Parsons also making her WSU debut, looks to improve on a first day that left her knotted at 59th after shooting 14-over.
Play continues at the par-72, 6,271-yard course with the third and final round on Tuesday (Sept. 19). Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m., with the top three teams (Denver, Long Beach State and UC Davis) starting at 8:50 a.m. on the first tee.
