Matt Argyropoulos Named Top Performer

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State junior third baseman Matt Argyropoulos has been named a Top Performer by for his effort against Arizona State, April 9-11.

A native of Longview, Wash., Argyropoulos helped lead the Cougars to two victories in the three-game series against the then-unanimous No. 1 Sun Devils, WSU first series win in school history over Arizona State.

In his first at bat of the series, Argyropoulos singled in a run as part of a four-run first inning. He doubled leading off the bottom of the ninth inning and scored the winning run during a 6-5 victory in the opener.

In the deciding game of the series, Argyropoulos collected a sacrifice fly in the first inning and ignited a three-run sixth inning rally with a home run to open the frame.
