PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University and Brigham Young University will play a home-and-home football series beginning in 2012, it was announced by both schools Friday.
WSU will open its 2012 season at BYU Sept. 1 with the return game the following year in Martin Stadium.
"It has been my desire since arriving at Washington State to schedule quality nonconference opponents in a home-and-home series," said WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos. "This falls in line with future schedules which series with Wisconsin and Boise State."
BYU holds a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series, with BYU capturing a 38-36 win at the 1981 Holiday Bowl in the first meeting. In 1989 WSU captured a 46-41 upset win over No. 24 BYU in Provo followed by a 50-36 BYU victory the following season.
