WSU Aug. 29 Volleyball Release Get Acrobat Reader

COUGAR VOLLEYBALL TEAM ON THE ROAD FOR SECOND WEEKEND
The Washington State University volleyball team is coming off a 2-1 opening weekend showing, won the Seattle U Fall Volley team title and had Meagan Ganzer named MVP and Camryn Irwin selected to all-tournament team...Cougars stay on the road but still in the Pacific Northwest as they travel to the University of Portland Nike Invitational at the Chiles Center Sept. 1 through 3...the complete tournament schedule is below...all the Cougar volleyball matches at the Portland tournament will be broadcast live on KQQQ (1150 AM) and KHTR (104.3 FM) in Pullman and on the internet (see below).

COUGAR COACHING STAFF
First year Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny (2-1 at WSU, 114-25 career) is no stranger to Washington State volleyball...an outstanding student and athlete at WSU, Greeny was an All-Pac-10 player and member of three NCAA teams including the 1996 Elite Eight team...also an assistant coach for three more NCAA appearances including the 2002 Elite Eight team...had highly successful NAIA coaching career at Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) with four-year record of 112-24 (.824)...assistant coaches Pat Stangle (former head coach at Wyoming, former asst. coach at Washington) and Burdette Greeny (former asst. coach at LCSC)...Katie Hinrichs, coordinator of operations (former player at LCSC)...volunteer coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt was the first WSU player to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career.

GANZER REACHES MILESTONE
Senior Meagan Ganzer (Black Diamond, Wash.), scored a total of 72 kills in the Seattle U Fall Volley, leading the Cougars to the tourney title and earned Most Valuable Player honors...became the 11th Cougar to ever score 1,000 career kills...Ganzer's 1,008 kills moves her into 10th place in WSU all-time records, ahead of her coach, Jen Stinson Greeny, who tallied 1,006 kills in her 1995-98 career.
