What's Happening This Week: The Washington State men's golf team heads to San Diego, Calif. for the Barona Collegiate Cup that takes place Oct. 20-21 at the Barona Creek Golf Club, a par-72 and 7,088 yard course...teams will shoot 36 holes Monday and the final 18 Tuesday for a total of 54...teams will tee off with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. both days.

The Field: The 17-team field consists of Alabama-Birmingham, BYU, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Hawaii, Louisville, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio State, San Diego, San Diego State, Texas A&M, UNC Greensboro, UTEP, Washington State, and Wichita State.

Head Coach Walt Williams On The Barona Collegiate Cup And Team: "This is a strong field and we're looking to make another good showing. We are sending seniors Ryan Camp and Isaac Woods along with freshmen Jordan Madison and Kevin Chen. Sophomore Paul Knue will also be making the trip. This is our fifth tournament and our fourth different lineup. Hopefully our young guys can get a little tougher and a little better. They're very capable players that are exciting to watch. Consistency will develop over time."

What Happened At The Ernest F. Lied Wolf Pack Classic Last Week: Woods Led the Cougars tying for 16th place by firing a 2-under 214 in the Ernest F. Lied Wolf Pack Classic at Reno, Nev. Oct. 6-7...Woods shot a career record tying low 68 (-4) in the second round.

Head Cougars: Coach Walt Williams is in his sixth year as head coach at WSU...in 2002, Williams was selected as Pac-10 Coach of the Year while leading his team to the NCAA West Regionals...Williams has helped four different golfers earn All Pac-10 honors and has had five different earn All Pac-10 Academic honors...assistant coach Heather Holte is in her third year at WSU...Holte played Pac-10 golf for the University of Oregon and graduated in 1997...she is now an amateur player at Oregon...Ryan Reesa has been added to the Cougar coaching staff as an assistant this year...Reesa played for WSU in the 2002-03 season.
