PULLMAN, Wash. - John "Abe" Lodwick has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at Washington State in 2006-07, Cougar Head Coach Tony Bennett announced, Wednesday.

Lodwick, a senior at Mountain View High School in Bend, Ore., averaged 15 points per game in 2005-06 to lead the Cougars to an Intermountain Conference championship. He was named Co-Intermountain Conference Player of the Year as Mountain View posted a 23-3 record and advanced to the third round of the 4A State playoffs.

The 6-foot-7, 180-pound wing was a team captain and earned All-State honorable mention.

"We are very happy to have an addition to our program from the Pacific Northwest," Bennett said. "Abe is an excellent student who has a desire to be at Washington State and compete at a high level.
