Washington State Quotes:
Head Coach Ken Bone
Thoughts on the game... "Feels good to be moving on. I was really impressed with our kids concentration level and focus. I thought our kids played a really good game again...these games are not like Pac-12 games. We appreciated the crowd that was here tonight but it wasn't really a Pac-12 crowd. I was impressed with the focus on defensive and overall execution on offense."
Game plan for Wyoming... "Cruz and Martinez were a focus of ours because they shoot the three so well. Our kids were able to get their hands up and make it challenging for them. We guarded really well and we knew where our strengths were. Offensively, Wyoming did a really nice job and our kids did a great job of holding them to 41 points."
On DaVonté Lacy's defense... "We thought he played an outstanding game. He played 29 minutes and did not make a field goal and being a freshman he probably feels like he didn't play well but we felt, as a staff that this was one of his best games. This was his best defensive game all year."
Junior Forward Brock Motum
On gearing up to play Oregon State for a fourth time this season... "We have played them before, so the scouting shouldn't be that difficult. It will be about execution, thank God this will be the last time and hopefully we will get them this time. It will be an advantage and disadvantage for both teams."
On overall physicality with Leonard Washington... "It was just two guys playing hard, he (Leonard Washington) is a great player."
Redshirt Senior Forward Abe Lodwick
On his career-high 16 points... "I feel pretty good about that. My teammates did a great job getting me open and I was able to knock them down. It was a fun game. We knew they were a really good defensive team and a lot of times that might mean they aren't as good offensively...that's not true across the board but it can be a factor. Our defensive effort was one of our best all season."
Senior Guard Marcus Capers
On overall game... "Coach Bone does a great job of preparing us for them. I felt like walking into the game, we had a chip on our shoulders. People have been dissing the Pac-12 this year and you just need to show up and win those games."
Wyoming Head Coach Larry Shyatt
On the overall game... "I'd like to compliment Washington State, I thought they played great. They played pretty well at home all season and continued to do so. We wish them the best of luck. As for our team, I will never forget this group. They allowed a new staff to coach them, guide them and trusted us which in this day and age is very unique. I'm disappointed we played so poorly but I would never let that affect the body of work these guys have done. They have set records nobody had dreamed."
On Washington State... "I thought they were physical, in a nice way and thought that affected our offensive play. We made 2 for 16 and you are not going to win many games shooting like that. We probably had a few too many turnovers. I think we should just compliment Washington State because it's the right thing to do and my wife would kill me if I said what was on my mind now anyways."
Senior Center Adam Waddell
On Brock Motum... "He is very efficient with what he does but I don't think he is particularly quicker than me or Leonard. He is efficient with his drives and efficient with his moves. We have not really played against a go to guy like him all year, he is left handed and we had some struggles with him tonight. We were not able to contain him."
Senior Guard JayDee Luster
On the game... "There have been multiple games where we struggled like we did tonight but defense has always been our standpoint. We feel like there were times tonight where we weren't in the right spot defensively...we are a defensive team and that is what we have done all year. Washington State just made more plays that weren't able to make."
