Washington State vs. Pittsburgh - March 26, 2012 - Beasley Coliseum (Pullman, Wash.)
College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen Championship Round
Final Score: WSU 67, PITT 66

Washington State Quotes:
Head Coach Ken Bone
On the victory...
"It was a great win for our program. Again, I sound like a broken record but we are just really proud of our guys that we have figured out way to win recently. It just seems like every game, we find a different way...may it be on offense or defense. Even at the end we had Charlie and D.J. in the game, we have never played them together but for defensive purposes it worked. Abe, once again had a great game and Reggie was really aggressive, as we need him to be."

"It is important to get the win on our home court knowing we have to go back there and play at least one or two games on their court. Brock is really missed, he has been a solid part of our offense all season and it's hard to adjust at the end. We are asking guys to do some things that are uncharacteristic during the course of the season, but our guys have adjusted well and we are playing to the end."

Redshirt Senior Forward Abe Lodwick
On lack of Brock Motum and overall offense...
"It changed quite a bit, obviously he is a big part of our offense. A lot of teams change their game plans because of him so obviously their game plans changed because he wasn't there. We knew going in that people would need to step up and be aggressive and I think everyone did that."

"We all knew coming in we needed to step up and it wasn't changing our offense, it was still x's and o's. It was just within the offense that other guys needed to be more aggressive in other areas."

Senior Guard Marcus Capers
On Pitt shooting 7-for-13 from 3-point in the first half...
"We made adjustments for the second half. Woodall, we didn't expect him to shoot that way in the first half. More communication on the defensive end and feel like we shifted better in the second half and showed more energy."

Senior Forward Charlie Enquist
On playing 27 minutes tonight...
"I was really tired coming down the stretch and Coach was calling a few timeouts at the end to give me a breather. I was just taking it one possession at a time. I felt ready for tonight because after Brock got hurt at the Oregon State game, Coach really pushed me in practice."

On last home game...
"It was a little emotional, it felt like another senior night. Most championships games are a single game, but this is a three-game series so you can't get too emotional because you have to get ready to play on Wednesday again."

Pittsburgh Quotes:
Pittsburgh Head Coach Jamie Dixon
On game...
"It was a good game to watch, but disappointing for us. Congrats to Washington State on the win. Obviously it came down to last second plays and thought our execution was good and got us in position for two good shots, two good looks and just came up short. They really shot the ball well, they have been shooting the ball well which is something we were aware of especially with Lodwick and Simon. They are a difficult team to guard. We will be better Wednesday and look forward to getting ready for that."

On going home for one or two games...
"Obviously, it is interesting because we have never been in a tournament like this. We would have like to have won this game but we will play it as it is set up and get ready and be ready Wednesday. It has been a long trip but we will get home and get ready. We had good stretches but ultimately our defense is what we need to improve on."

Junior Guard Tray Woodall
On the last play...
"That was the last shot we wanted for sure. It came a little earlier than expected...the shot just didn't fall."

Thoughts on potential end game run...
"It came down to execution and making plays. We had a big chance to win that game and it came down to making stops."

"We set a goal in the locker room at half time about picking up our defense and we tried to do that as much as we could in the second half. But as you can see they shot 51 percent from the field and 57 percent from the three and that was one of our emphasis and today we didn't really connect. We just need to look to play harder and come out on Wednesday."

Sophomore Forward J.J. Moore
On the overall game...
"We felt good coming in here and we just didn't do what we wanted to do and one of those things was defense. We just need to emphasize more and it will feel good to play at home with the fans and the atmosphere there."

On trip to Pullman...
"It was a good atmosphere for their sake, for ours it wasn't that good. We just played hard and they played hard. It was just a good game."
