PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University student Michael Bumpus, a sophomore and wide receiver with the WSU football team, plans to enroll for spring semester in the next few days, according to WSU officials.
"Bumpus has utilized institutional procedures available to all university students and following an institutional process completed this week he plans to enroll for spring semester," said WSU Faculty Representative Ken Casavant.
He currently meets all WSU and NCAA academic requirements and is expected to participate in all football activities throughout the semester, once enrolled.
"Michael, just like any other student at WSU, utilized procedures in place and is currently ready to enroll for spring semester," WSU head football coach Bill Doba said Friday. "He is eligible to participate in all football related activities this spring once enrolled, including spring practice. Right now we are focusing on his academic performance this spring and his progress toward a degree from WSU to insure he is eligible in the fall," added Doba.
