ESPN GameDay Flag Wavers to be Recognized Prior to WSU-Montana State Game

PULLMAN, Wash. - Prior to kickoff of the WSU-Montana State game at Martin Stadium, Saturday, Sept. 11, Washington State University Athletics will honor the individuals responsible for a cherished tradition at WSU.

The individuals who have waved Ol' Crimson, the Washington State Cougar flag, on ESPN College GameDay telecasts will be recognized in pregame ceremonies.

In attendance will be Tom Pounds, the founder of the tradition that dates back to 2003, and other flag wavers who will be traveling to Pullman from distances as far as Oklahoma and Michigan. They will proudly wave the actual flags flown on the ESPN telecasts when Butch runs out of the Martin Stadium tunnel before the team.

The following individuals have waved the Cougar Flag on GameDay and are scheduled to be part of the ceremony:

Will Walker
Stefanie Walker
Tom Pounds
Joanie Ries
Jeffrey Day
Kevin Day
Andrew Pannek
Kevin Wilson
Shauna Revello Wilson
Craig Murphy
Brent Schwartz
CJ McCoy

This aforementioned group represents just a small sample of the dozens that have waved the flag since the tradition began.
