LONG BEACH, Calif. - After two rounds of play at the 15th annual Del Walker Intercollegiate, the Washington State University men's golf team sits in fourth place, six strokes behind the leader.

Freshman Kent Hagen leads the Cougs on day one. Hagen is tied for fourth place carding a 71(+1) in the first round and a 72 (+2) in the second. Also of note, Hagen finished round two with six birdies, a total of nine for the day. Sophomore Hank Frame shot a 71(+1) in the second round of play and finishes the day tied for 14th.

Junior Trent Sanders and redshirt freshman Cody Robinson finish day one tied for 40th. Robinson went three under-par in the back nine of the first round, carding an even 70 (E).

Senior Nick Ellis eagled the 14th hole of the second round; he also sits tied for 40th.

Head Coach Walt Williams said, "Hagen and Frame both played very solid. As a team, we played decent today but there were too many loose swings. We need to tighten up our swings and hopefully tomorrow we get a little closer and make a run at the lead groups."

In his second tournament as a Cougar, junior Branden Dalton went three-over par in the second round to finish tied for 32nd.

The final round concludes Tuesday. Live action can be followed at golfstat.com.
