PULLMAN, Wash. - Jon Reehoorn, who completed his Washington State golf career in style with a school record dozen top 25 finishes in 2001-02, added to his postseason honors with a PING All-Pacific Region team selection.

The announcement was made, Monday, May 27 by the Golf Coaches Association of America at its National Awards Dinner at Columbus, Ohio, which honored the top student-athletes and coaches in college golf.

"I am very excited for Jon," said Head Coach Walt Williams. "I am running out of ways to describe his accomplishments. Jon leaves Washington State as the greatest player this program has seen."

Reehoorn, who was a 2002 All-Pac-10 second team selection, was recognized as one of the top 15 players in the Pacific region for outstanding play during the 2001-02 season. He will be considered for PING All-America status following the NCAA Championships, which is currently taking place at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course.

In leading the Cougars to a NCAA postseason berth for the first time, Reehoorn posted a 72.0 scoring average in 2001-02, the best single season mark in school history. In addition, the Burlington, Wash., native ended his tenure at WSU with a school record 14 and 28 career top 10 and top 25 finishes, respectively.

Among Reehoorn's dozen top 25 efforts in 2001-02 were six top six finishes including a victory at the Oregon Duck Invitational, March 26. In posting his second career collegiate victory (Inland Collegiate Challenge, 1999) Reehoorn turned in rounds of 70-69-67 for a 10-under par total of 206.

At the NCAA West Regional earlier this month, Reehoorn started his second round with three consecutive birdies, which briefly placed him in a tie for the tournament lead at three under par. Reehoorn ended the tournament tied for 34th position.
