Santa Clara & USC Preview Get Acrobat Reader

THIS WEEK
The Washington State (6-2-1) soccer team wraps up its nonconference schedule at Santa Clara, Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. before beginning its Pac-12 schedule at USC, Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m...Washington State is receiving votes in both the Soccer Times and NSCAA national polls.

LAST WEEK
The Cougars defeated Gonzaga 2-1 in double overtime...freshman Jocelyn Jeffers scored her first-collegiate goal to even the match 1-1 in the 52nd minute...sophomore Eileen Maes netted her team-leading fourth goal with 59 seconds remaining in the second overtime to improve Washington State's record to 19-0-1 all-time against Gonzaga...Washington State knocked off Idaho 2-1 in overtime...freshman Beau Bremer scored the first-two goals of her collegiate career in the victory over the Vandals.

COUGARS ARE A DRAWING CARD
Washington State set a single-match home attendance record when 1,273 fans watched the Cougars' 1-0 victory over Seattle at Lower Soccer Field, Aug. 28...highest attended match in the country that day according to research found at BigSoccer.com...Cougars are averaging 895 fans per match at home this season and are on pace to set single-season records for average and total attendance.

WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH Matt Potter
Currently in his ninth season, Cougar Head Coach Matt Potter has amassed a school-record 82 victories...only Washington State mentor to guide the program to back-to-back NCAA postseason appearances (2008 and 2009).

ABOUT THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara is 3-1-4...winless in its last-five matches...tied Oregon State and Oregon in Eugene...lost at home to Stanford...ranked 18th by Soccer Times and 21st by the NSCAA.

SERIES WITH SANTA CLARA
The Broncos lead 5-0-1...Broncos are 2-0-1 at home...teams have not met since 1998.
