PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. - Junior Amy Eneroth placed in the top 25 and led the Washington State University women's golf team in the final round of the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, Wednesday.

The Cougars (313-309-310) moved up one position in the final round to finish in eighth place and ahead of in-state rival No. 47 Washington and No. 58 Oregon State (Rankings according to Golfstat). WSU combined for a three-round total of 932 at the par-71, 6,060-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club.

"It's always fun to beat the University of Washington and to come from behind it is even better," Head Coach Walt Williams said. "Our eighth place finish may be good enough to get us into the NCAA West Regional tournament so that is what we are hoping for."

Eneroth, of Spokane, Wash., propelled up seven positions in the third round after firing a 4-over par 75. Eneroth finished tied for 22nd and carded a total score of 229. Eneroth also earned her third consecutive top 25 finish at the Pac-10 tournament and led the Cougars for the second straight year.

Senior Tracy Broders inked a 76 in the final round to move up three positions to finish tied for 26th. Broders' three-day total of 230 was only one stroke from away from cracking the top 25.

"The wind was blowing pretty strong today but Tracy and Amy both really hung in there and posted really good rounds," Williams said.

Senior Brooke Henderson carded a total of 236 and sophomore Diana Hong finished close behind with 237. Junior Jessica Black rounded out the Cougar scoring contingent and ended the tournament with 246.

The Cougars' eighth place finish matches their mark at last year's Pac-10 tournament.
