HONOLULU, Hawaii - Dustin White fired a final round 67 to capture first place overall by one stroke, and champion the Turtle Bay Collegiate at the par 72, 7,199 yard Links at Kuilima at Honolulu, Hawaii, Tuesday.

White started the day seven shots back of then leader David Skinns of Tennessee, but entered a league of his own in the final round by shooting six shots lower than the average scoring round (73.12) of the rest of the top 25. White tied his best round of the fall, equaling the 67 he shot in the second round of the Wolf Pack Classic Oct. 7. White's victory is the second of his career and the first for WSU since his win at the Coastal Carolina Invite March 8, 2002.

"Dustin has played well all fall and to finish off by tying his best round this year is exciting in itself," Head Coach Walt Williams said, "but a win against a very strong field is huge."

White faced tough competition for the crown as he held off three of team champion UNLV's golfers, including 2002 U.S. Amateur Public Links Champion and 2002 U.S. Open competitor Ryan Moore, for the title.

The Cougars carded the best team score of the final round with a 285 to finish in fourth place. WSU tied its second best finish of the fall with the fourth place finish at the Wolf Pack Classic Oct. 8 and placed ahead of Golfweek's 31st ranked team, San Diego State.

"We had a good showing from the whole team today," said Williams, "and everyone played well."

The junior duo of Ryan Camp and Isaac Woods earned Top 25 finishes by placing 10th, and 16th, respectively. Paul Knue finished in a tie for 47th in just his second tournament of the fall and Ryan Ressa moved up 17 spots from yesterday to finish in a tie for 63rd, to round out the Cougar contingent.
