Ryan Witz Completes Cougar Career at NCAA West Regional

TUCSON, Ariz. - Washington State University's Ryan Witz ended his Cougar career, Saturday, as he finished the NCAA West Regional tied for 83rd (220, +4) at the par-72, 7,200 yard Omni Tucson National Golf Course.

Witz started the day off with a bogey on the first hole that quickly dropped him to 1-over par. A bogey on the sixth hole moved the Tucson, Ariz., native to 2-over par heading into the back nine. The senior stepped up on the final nine holes sinking two birdies and only one bogey that allowed him to finish the day at 1-over 73, two strokes better then his second round score.

The NCAA West Regional wraps up a two-year career at Washington State for Witz that includes one tournament win at the Duck Invitational, six top-10 finishes and nine top-25 efforts.

Arizona and Florida shared the title as they tied for first finishing with a commanding score of 37-under 827. The Gator's Billy Horschel and Nevada's Casey Watabu shared the individual title both carding scores of 13-under 203. The top 10 teams and two individuals qualified for the 2006 NCAA Men's Golf Championships, May 31-June 3 at the Crosswater Club at the Sunriver Resort at Sunriver, Ore.
