AUBURN, Wash. - Washington State University junior men's golfer Trent Sanders is in the top 10 after the first two rounds of the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational.

Sanders is tied for fifth headed into the final round after shooting back-to-back rounds of 71 (-1) at the par-72, 7,304-yard Washington National Golf Club.

"I got some putts to go and it ended up being a pretty good day," Sanders said.

The Cougars posted a team score of 595, finishing the first day ahead of Fresno State and Gonzaga.

Freshman Kent Hagen finished tied for 40th with a 150 (+6), and is just three strokes back of the top 25.

"We played ok, we just didn't chip and putt well," WSU Head Coach Walt Williams said. "We will make the changes we need to make and tomorrow we'll move up."

Rounding out the Cougar contingent were senior Nick Ellis (151; +7), redshirt freshman Cody Robinson (154; +10) and sophomore Hank Frame (159; +15).

Tuesday's final round begins with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
