WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State University freshman Beau Bremer has been named Bank of the West Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 13-19, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Tuesday.
Bremer was instrumental in Washington State's 2-1 overtime victory at Idaho, Sept. 18. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native took four shots, all on frame, and scored both of the Cougars' goals.
In the 49th minute, Bremer received a long diagonal pass from junior Brandi Vega and beat the Vandals' goalkeeper high from 10 yards out for her first-collegiate goal. The tally tied the match 1-1.
Bremer's game-winner came in the 95th minute. She beat a defender 1v1, and then fired a shot inside the near post from the right side at six yards out.
It is the first Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week honor for Bremer and the 10th all-time for the Cougars. Last month, sophomore Eileen Maes won the award making Washington State the only school with two recipients this season.
