COUGAR VOLLEYBALL HOSTS DESERT SCHOOLS IN BOHLER: The Washington State volleyball team (12-1, 1-1) returns to the friendly confines of Marcia Saneholtz Court in Bohler Gym to take on No. 18 Arizona (12-1, 1-1) Friday, Oct. 2, and Arizona State (11-3, 1-1) Saturday, Oct. 3...both matches begin at 7 p.m...both matches will be available online for live webcast viewing on the Cougar All-Access, a subscription service at www.wsucougars.com...see the note below for more information.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF: Head Coach Andrew Palileo is in his second season at WSU after a highly successful tenure at South Dakota State...Palileo has a 22-20 overall record at WSU, and a 13-year career record of 252-161...associate head coach Brian Lamppa and assistant coach TeAna Tramel complete the coaching staff...Kara Kiefer is the coordinator of operations.

NATIONAL RANKINGS MEAN TOUGH SCHEDULE FOR COUGS: The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Div. I Coaches Top 25 Poll for Sept. 28, has many WSU's opponents ranked...the Pac-10 schools include No. 3 Washington, No. 7 Oregon, No. 9 California, No. 11 Stanford, No. 13 USC, No. 16 UCLA, No. 18 Arizona...Utah was ranked No. 17 when Washington State swept the Utes Sept. 5...also receiving votes in this week's poll is Washington State (t-No. 34), Arizona State (t-No. 34) and Oregon State (No. 41)...last week the Cougs were listed at No. 35...defending national champion Penn State is ranked No. 1...for the weekly poll, go to www.avca.org.

WSU VOLLEYBALL YOUTH CLINICS: Head Coach Andrew Palileo and the WSU volleyball team will conduct youth volleyball clinics Oct. 3 and Oct. 17, from 9-10 a.m. in Bohler Gym for boys and girls, ages 5 to 11...clinics are free with the donation of a can of food...all participants receive a ticket for the Cougar volleyball matches later those same days...parents of participants can purchase tickets to these matches for $1 with a donation of an additional can of food...all food will be donated to the Pullman Community Action Center...email WSU Cougar assistant coach TeAna Tramel at ttramel@wsu.edu to register...questions or concerns, please call 509-335-0275.

WSU VOLLEYBALL WEBCASTS ARRIVE: This weekend marks the start of live-streaming webcasts of selected WSU volleyball home matches...these webcasts will be available for the cost of a subscription to Cougar All-Access on the official WSU website, www.wsucougars.com...viewers need to set up their account a few days in advance...subscribers will also be able to hear the radio broadcasts of all Cougar road matches through Cougar All-Access...both the Arizona and Arizona State matches will be webcast this weekend.

NCAA Statistics (for matches played through 9/27) - Renee Bordelon's 11.89 assists per set is second-best in Pac-10 and 4th-best nationally; Cassie Robbins is 20th with 1.38 blocks per set; WSU team is 7th in kills per set (14.67), 8th in assists per set (13.49), and 13th in hitting percentage (.279)
Season record - WSU's 12-0 start in 2009 equaled the best start since 1997 (16-0, advanced to NCAA Sweet 16
