The addition of inside wide receiver positions has created opportunities for a couple veterans who return looking to produce for the new look Cougar offense. Leading the way will be redshirt senior Andrei Lintz who made the switch from tight end this spring and immediately turned the heads of head coach Mike Leach and his staff. Joining Lintz at the Y receiver position will be redshirt sophomore Bobby Ratliff who caught 28 passes last season and also turned in an impressive spring. Three returners that will be competing at the Z inside receiver position will be senior Gino Simone (53 career catches), junior Bennett Bontemps and redshirt sophomore Blair Bomber.

A few newcomers who will vie for time at either inside receiver position will be Max Hersey and Mansel Simmons who each redshirted last season along with Brett McDonald who walked on and was named last season's scout team offensive player of the year. Freshman Brett Bartolone will also receive some opportunities to contribute after putting up some big numbers during his La Habra High School (Calif.) career.
