PULLMAN, Wash. - A trip to Arizona, a match at Portland and three dates at Lower Soccer Field comprise the 2008 Washington State women's soccer spring schedule, Cougar Head Coach Matt Potter announced, Thursday.
Washington State will take on BYU, Saturday, March 8 at 11 a.m. and Northern Arizona at 7 p.m. in the Sereno Soccer Tournament held in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Cougars travel to Portland, Saturday, March 22 for an 11 a.m. match before coming home to take on Gonzaga (Sunday, April 6 at noon), Idaho (Friday, April 11, time TBD), and Montana (Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m.).
"Our goal is to challenge our players during the spring," Potter said. "We will play two well-coached, established programs in Arizona and another in Portland, as well as some regional rivals in Pullman."
Potter added, "I have been pleased and impressed with the commitment, work ethic, and attitude of our student-athletes so far this spring. We are focusing on our strengths and implementing good habits that will allow us to succeed in the future."
The Cougars are coming off an 11-5-3 season, including a 4-4-1 mark in the Pacific-10 Conference. WSU's biggest win of the season came in its final match when the Cougars knocked off then-No. 4 and 2007 national champion USC.
