PULLMAN - Washington State first year Head Coach Jen Greeny opened volleyball practice on the newly renovated floor of Bohler Gym Wednesday morning.
Greeny and her staff, assistant coaches Pat Stangle and Burdette Greeny, Operations Coordinator Katie Hinrichs and volunteer coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt, conducted the first two practice sessions in the Physical Education Building Tuesday while the Bohler Gym floor's new finish was drying. The Pac-12 Conference logos and the new fonts for Washington State and Cougars, part of WSU Athletics re-branding campaign, were painted on the floor which is lighter and brighter than in previous years.
Greeny, a former standout volleyball player for the Cougars, is getting acquainted with the 16 student-athletes on the WSU team. There are 11 newcomers on the squad and only four of the five returning players have seen court action wearing WSU uniforms. Meagan Ganzer, All-Pac-10 honorable mention in 2010 is the lone Cougar senior on the squad. Greeny's lone recruit on the squad is sophomore setter Camryn Irwin (Brush Prairie, Wash.), a transfer from Oregon.
