PULLMAN, Wash. - Bianca McCall, a 6-foot-1 forward from Santa Rosa Junior College, has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Washington State women's basketball team next fall, head coach Sherri Murrell announced Tuesday.
"We are fortunate to have Bianca join our team," Murrell said. "Her size and strength will bring a presence to our inside game. She is well prepared to make an impact on our program next season."
During her sophomore season at Santa Rosa, McCall averaged a state-leading 15.1 rebounds and 4.3 blocks a game, in addition to scoring an average of 19.2 points a contest, which ranked second in the Bay Valley Conference and 11th in state.
McCall, who played at Boise State during her freshman year before transferring to Santa Rosa, reached double figures in points and rebounds in 29 games last season at Santa Rosa.
Those numbers earned McCall - who was named a Street & Smith All-American at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa - a first team All-Bay Valley and a second team All-State selection, as well as a Kodak All-America Team honorable mention pick.
"Bianca is a terrific person and an explosive player," said Santa Rosa Head Coach Caren Franci. "I am looking for great things from her at Washington State."
