The Washington State University baseball team makes its first road trip of the season as the Cougars travel to Lubbock, Texas for the Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic, Feb. 26-28...WSU (2-0) plays two neutral site games against Bethune-Cookman (1-3) and two road contests against tournament-host Texas Tech (4-0).

BROOKS WALLACE
Brooks Wallace was a shortstop at Texas Tech (1977-80)...All-Southwest Conference selection as a senior...played two years in the Texas Rangers' organization...resturned to Texas Tech as a graduate assistant, and later served as an assistant coach...diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 1984, he passed away March 24, 1985.

WEEK ONE RECAP
Washington State opened the 2010 season with a two-game sweep of Seattle in Pullman, Feb. 20-21...Cougars won the opener 11-6 behind three hits each from Matt Argyropoulos and Garry Kuykendall...crowd of 1,136 was the largest for a nonconferene game in the Donnie Marbut era...WSU completed the sweep with a 23-0 win...Fifteen Cougars collected at least one hit (23 hits as a team) and five hurlers combined for the shutout.

THE SERIES
The Cougars have never played Bethune-Cookman...Washington State leads 1-0...Cougars won 9-3 at the Dessert Classic in Las Vegas, Feb. 27, 1986...Guy Normand went the distance and pitched a five-hitter for WSU...Brad Wolten had three hits for the Cougars.

FAST START
The Cougars are 2-0 for the first time since 2002 and are seeking their first 3-0 start since 1993 when they won their first-five outings.
