THIS WEEKEND: Washington State (4-1) hosts Wright State (0-3) in a three-game series Friday, Feb. 29-Sunday, March 2 at Bailey-Brayton Field...games are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday...all three games will have live stats free of charge on www.wsucougars.com and will be available via video streaming for Cougar All-Access subscribers.

SERIES AGAINST THE RAIDERS: Washington State and Wright State have not met on the baseball diamond...Raiders are one of two teams (Creighton is the other) on the Cougars' 2008 schedule that WSU had not played prior to this season.

ABOUT WRIGHT STATE: The Raiders travel to Pullman from Dayton, Ohio and are a member of the Horizon League...Wright State is 0-3 this season after being swept at Arkansas, Feb. 22-24...Raiders led 4-0 Friday (lost 9-4), 3-0 Saturday (lost 5-4) and 2-0 Sunday (lost 7-3)...Justin Parker leads Wright State with a .375 average.

WSU AGAINST THE HORIZON LEAGUE: The Cougars are 2-1 against the Horizon League...WSU took two out of three last season at home over Illinois-Chicago.

WSU BATS ON FIRE IN LAS VEGAS: The Cougars pounded out 31 hits and batted .383 as a team in their two-game sweep at UNLV, Feb. 26-27...eight different hitters had a multi-hit game during the series with freshman John Desmarais (2-for-5 and 4-for-5) and junior Jared Prince (a pair of 2-for-5 nights) collecting multiple hits in each outing...Cougars drilled seven doubles and four triples in the two games.

COUGAR BULLPEN: The Washington State bullpen is 4-0 with one save and a 1.26 earned run average this season...has not given up an earned run in the last 20 1/3 innings...Michael Ratigan has appeared twice earning a victory each time while posting a 0.00 ERA in six and one-third innings...Steve Kost has made three appearances and is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three and one-third innings...Ross Humes has appeared in three games earning a save and a 0.00 ERA in three and one-third innings...Seth Harvey leads the team with four appearances and has a 0.00 ERA in three and two-thirds innings.

PROTECTING LEADS: In the Donnie Marbut era, a late lead for the Cougars is likely safe...Cougars are 76-8 (.905 winning percentage) when holding an advantage after six innings during Marbut's tenure (2005-present)...WSU is 79-5 (.941) when leading after seven innings and 83-3 (.965) when holding an advantage after eight innings...over the last 10 seasons, the Cougars are 196-26 (.883) leading after six innings, 198-20 (.908) leading after seven innings, and 202-10 (.953) taking a lead into the ninth inning.

HOME SWEET HOME: WSU has won its last 14 nonconference series in Pullman,including all nine under Donnie Marbut...Cougars have won 30 of 42 games during those series, including a 19-8 mark with Marbut at the helm...last nonconference series loss was March 25-26, 2002 when Washington swept two games...last series lost to a nonconference opponent was May 12-14, 2000 when Cal State Northridge won two of three...this season, the Cougars went 2-1 against 2007 NCAA regional participant Creighton and host Wright State (Feb. 29-March 2) and San Jose State (April 25-27) in three-game series as well as 2007 NCAA regional partcipant Kent State (March 7-9) and UC Davis (April 4-6) in four-game sets.
