COUGARS HOST UTAH
After five-consecutive nonconference games, Washington State (16-13, 3-5 Pac-12) returns to Pac-12 Conference play with a three-game series against Utah (8-23, 4-8 Pac-12) at Bailey-Brayton Field...game times are 5:30 p.m. (Friday, April 13), 2 p.m. (Saturday, April 14) and 11 a.m. (Sunday, April 15)...note, the 11 a.m. start time, Sunday is an hour earlier than usual...Washington State is 226-200 under Donnie Marbut, who is in his eighth season as the head coach of the WSU program and ninth overall in Pullman.

ALONG CAME JONES
With a grand slam at Portland, April 10, senior Derek Jones became the Washington State career home run record holder with 41...broke Jeff Hooper's 25-year-old school record...Jones also ranks eighth all-time at Washington State with 380 total bases, ninth with 152 RBI and is tied for ninth with 30 hit by pitches...in addition, Jones is among the Pac-12 leaders this season in several categories...leads conference in home runs (9), slugging percentage (.804), OPS (1.300) and total bases (86)...tied for third in batting average (.402) and triples (3)...fourth in on-base percentage (.496)...tied for fifth in RBI (33) and runs (30)...tied for seventh in doubles (10)...tied for eighth in hits (43)...tied for 10th in walks (17) and stolen bases (7)...entered the week ranked fifth nationally in slugging percentage.

TURN TWO
Through games of April 8, Washington State was leading the nation with 1.32 double plays per game defensively...Cougars' 37 double plays ranked third...Washington State turned one double play at Portland, Tuesday.

TOP TEN WINS
The Cougars have three road victories this season against a top 10 team...defeated No. 8 Cal State Fullerton 9-8 in 11 innings, March 13, knocked off No. 6 Arizona 6-0, March 16 and downed No. 6 UCLA 10-4, March 26.

SPEED ON THE BASES
Washington State has 48 stolen bases this season, third in the Pac-12, one behind conference leader Arizona.
