WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Brooke Bemis was selected Pacific-10 Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic First Team, highlighting 15 Cougars earning all-conference honors, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Thursday.

Bemis, a forward from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, carries a 3.84 grade point average in history. Last month she was named ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA District VIII All-Academic First team.

Sophomore defender Maggie Dougher (3.74, movement studies) and senior midfielder Natalie Elkind (3.71, sport management) were named to the second team. It was the second straight season Elkind earned second team honors after being an honorable mention selection in 2005.

Sophomore midfielder Caeli Abeyta (3.58, undeclared), senior goalkeeper Brynn Bemis (3.31, political science), senior forward Kim Bonnes (3.50, apparel merchandising design and textiles), sophomore defender Jenny Christoph (3.61, human development), sophomore forward Kiersten Dallstream (3.38, wildlife ecology), sophomore midfielder Carly Dobratz (3.33, undeclared), redshirt-freshman midfielder Mallory Fox (3.14, undeclared), senior midfielder Shaye Harrel (3.45, movement studies), senior midfielder Anna Miller (3.55, sport management), redshirt-sophomore defender Laura Powell (3.68, Spanish), senior defender Allison Scurich (3.27, sport management) and sophomore midfielder Elysse Van Leer (3.51, undeclared), earned honorable mention honors.

Miller was named honorable mention for the second time (2005) to go along with her second team selection last season. Scurich was named honorable mention for the third-straight season. Bonnes (2006) and Harrel (2005) each earned their second honorable mention honor.
