Washington State Quotes:
WSU Head Coach Tony Bennett
On starting the season 12-0:
"Our goal is just to have a good nonconference to prepare us for the Pac-10. Going unbeaten is quite an accomplishment because we played four home games and we played some tough teams on the road, so we felt solid about that. The fact that we're 12-0, we're not going to turn it down. We are also very aware of the kind of league we're in and now it's going to step up."
"I think our guys are excited to compete in the Pac-10 but know how intense it will be. This was probably the last opportunity for some of our bench guys and so we tried to make the most of that."
On playing more of the bench...
"We're going to have to continue to step up and be ready to play, but they did what they had to. Those guys got to play good minutes and we were able to take a look at them and see where they're at."
On his shot coming along...
"I don't want to jinx myself, but I just try and keep working on my shot in practice. I just try and stay positive even when I'm missing, because I know they'll eventually fall. Fortunately it's been falling the last couple of games and hopefully I can hold it together come conference."
On going undefeated in nonconference play...
"It definitely feels good. I don't think we played the toughest schedule out there, but it allowed us to work on certain things and get better as we approach conference play."
On being ready for Pac-10 play...
"We were trying to prepare for Pac-10 play all along, we know what we're going to go up against. We need to lock it down on defense. If we can play defensively like we did tonight, we'll have a pretty good chance in the Pac-10. We definitely need to come up with some intensity in league, the three-game road trip to open the season will be tough."
On getting more minutes...
"It's nice to get more minutes. I was tired, game shape and practice shape are two completely different things."
