WSU Takes Second-Place Tie into Sunday Races

PULLMAN, Wash. - The No. 13 Washington State University women's rowing team completed two sessions of racing tied for second-place overall at the Lake Natoma Invitational Saturday. Both WSU and Stanford have a team total of 32 points, which is four shy of the leader California.

The Cougar varsity eight and varsity four each repeated its finish from the morning session by winning its heat. The WSU varsity eight (Sarah Wolff, Kyann Martin, Hannah Rothstrom, Justine Galbraith, Allie Reilly, Katie Dick, Lisa Roman, Irena Neffeova, Corina Chilibeck - cox) earned another close victory, finishing 1.37 seconds ahead of Wisconsin, with a time of 6:50.6.

The WSU varsity four (Katie Wollstein, Liz England, Crystal Martin, Lauren Johnson, Cayla Ravancho - cox) finished with a time of 7:33.9, approximately four seconds in front of second-place Wisconsin.

The Cougar second varsity eight (Annie Eastwood, Danya Levesque, Corinna Sharick, Erica Lewis, Erika Jorgensen, Sarah Powell, Christina Kinck, Natasha Ostopovich, Lexi Ryman - cox) collected its second runner-up finish of the day, this time to falling to Wisconsin, with a itme of 6:59.98.
