WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State freshman Eileen Maes was named Pacific-10 Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 4, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Monday.

Maes became the sixth Cougar in school history to record at least three goals in a match when she found the back of the net three times in Washington State's 4-0 victory over Gonzaga, Oct. 1.

The midfielder from Oakland, Calif., scored in the 51st minute on a direct kick from 35 yards out. In the 87th minute, she picked up her second goal off a corner kick. She completed the hat trick in the final minute after receiving a through ball, dribbling into the box on the right side and beating the Gonzaga' goalkeeper.

It is the first player of the week honor for Maes and the eighth all-time for Washington State.
