PULLMAN, Wash. - Wayne Daman and Tyler Dale combined on a three-hit shutout while Paul Gran drove in three runs as the Crimson squad posted an 11-0 shutout over Gray in Game Three of the annual Crimson and Gray World Series Wednesday at Bailey-Brayton Field.

The victory pushed the Crimson into a 2-1 lead with two games remaining in the series.

Daman was staked to a 6-0 lead after two innings as the Crimson scored two in the first and four more in the second. Jay Miller drove in the first run with an RBI double before scoring on Gran's single. Gran had another RBI single in the second as the Crimson strung together three hits and took advantage of two Gray walks. Miller closed out the second-inning scoring by stealing home.

With the big lead Daman was able to throw strikes, which he did with regularity. He faced the minimum through three innings, allowing two singles but getting defensive help through a double play and a caught stealing. Daman went 5 2/3 innings, striking out three while allowing just three hits. Dale came on to work the final 1 1/3 innings, surrendering a walk to his first batter before retiring the final four batters in order.

Crimson continued to swing the bat well, adding a run in the third, two in the fourth and another in the fifth coming on Zach Franklin's solo home run, the first round-tripper of the series. Crimson closed out the scoring on Joe Schuster's RBI single in the seventh.

Miller led the 14-hit Crimson attack by going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored. Gran also went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs while Nick Hall, Jared Prince and Schuster each added two hits.

Grant Alexander started for the Gray team and lasted two innings, giving up six runs as he suffered the loss. Offensively, Jeff Miller, Garrett Kimbrel and Tyler McCallum each had singles on the afternoon.

Game Four of the Crimson and Gray World Series takes place Thursday at Bailey-Brayton Field with a 3 p.m. first pitch.
