Men's Golf Remain Tied for First After Round Two of Cuthbert Cup

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Washington State University men's golf team continued its success in round two of the Cuthbert Cup, Monday and is vying for sole possession of first place heading into the final day of competition.

The Cougars fired a second round total of 287 and were once again led by freshman Nick Ellis at the par-72, 6,757-yard Osprey Point Golf Course. The men remain tied for first with a two-day total of 579 (+3). The Cougars also sit above the host, College of Charleston, by one stroke.

Ellis held his position during day two and remains tied for second after an even-par 72. Ellis' total score of 3-under (141) positions him only four strokes out of first place.

Sophomore Kevin Tucker ascended the leaderboard and fired a 3-under 69 to move up 11 spots. Tucker heads into day three tied for sixth with a total score of 143. Sophomore Nick Grigsby also improved on his first day total as he carded a 1-under 71. Grigsby's 146 is good for a tie at 16th.

Freshman Xavier Dailly finished with a total score of 149 and sophomore Austin Hurt ended the day with 156 to round out the Cougar contingent.

The men look to remain at the top of the pack and begin the third and final round of competition at 8:15 a.m., Tuesday.
