Cougar Men's Golf Third In Seattle; Women Sixth At Idaho

Led by a one-under par effort from sophomore Ryan Camp (Spokane, Wash.) the Washington State men's golf team is tied for third heading into the final round of the Husky Invitational.

The Cougars shot a two round total of 739, tying them with the University of Nevada in the 10-team tournament field. The Cougars are chasing the host team University of Washington (729) and Pepperdine University (736) heading into Tuesday's final round at the par-72 Gold Mountain Golf Complex Olympic Course. Camp - who followed up a morning round 74 with an afternoon 69 - is tied for fourth, five shots behind tournament leader John Robertson of Washington (-6).

Junior Dustin White is tied for 10th place at one-over par and sophomore Isaac Woods is in 12th position at two-over par.

While the men competed on the west side of the state, the WSU women's team battled just across the border at the Lady Vandal Fall Invitational in Moscow, Idaho.

After Monday's 36 holes of action, Tasha Browner is tied for second heading into Tuesday's final round. Browner, a senior from Tarzana, Calif., shot rounds of 76 and 73 for a two round total of 149 (+5). Browner is tied with two other competitors, just two strokes behind tournament leader Walakak Satarak of UC Irvine. Freshman Kim Welch is tied for ninth after turning in a two round total of 152. The Cougars are in sixth place in the 16-team field after Monday's competition.
