The Washington State women's golf team will take part in the 28th Annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational hosted by Hawaii in Kaneohe, Hawaii...tournament will take place, March 12-13...Washington State won the event in 2005 with Kim Welch taking home individual honors in 2004 and 2005.
The Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational will be played at the par-72, 6,099-yard Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course...first and second round will be played, Tuesday beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start...third and final round will take place, Wednesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start...Washington State is paired with Gonzaga, New Mexico and UTEP and will begin on holes 8-11.
In order of national ranking, the teams joining host school No. 168 Hawaii will be (7) Arizona, (41) Mississippi, (45) Ohio State, (55) Gonzaga, (62) Louisville, (75) Washington State, (92) New Mexico, (98) Idaho, (131) Illinois State, (132) San Francisco, (154) UTEP, (165) Seattle, (212) Central Connecticut, (213) Lipscomb and Division II Hawaii-Hilo...Division II Hawaii Pacific will have individuals competing.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE
Representing the Cougar women in Hawaii will be junior Emma Betland, sophomore Rachel Lewis in the team competition...freshman Nani Yanagi will compete as an individual.
