THIS WEEK: The Washington State University women's swim team hosts its first home meets of the season, Friday, Jan. 16 and Saturday, Jan. 17 against Pacific at Gibb Pool...Friday's relay meet begins at 6 p.m., while Saturday's dual meet begins at 11 a.m...these meets are the first two of seven consecutive home competitions.

LAST WEEK: Washington State last competed January 7 in Los Angeles against UCLA...the Cougars fell to the No. 10 Bruins, 84-74 in the Pac-10 competition.

COACH QUAM: WSU Head Coach Erica Quam is in her second season as the women's swimming coach.

THIS SEASON: The Cougars added 12 newcomers to the 10 returning letterwinners...WSU has a dual meet record of 1-4...the Cougs are 0-3 in Pac-10 competitions this season.

LAST SEASON: The Cougars finished ninth in the Pac-10 last season...finished 41st at NCAA's...senior Lindsay Henahan placed 16th in the 100 butterfly, WSU's first All-American since 2000.

ACADEMICS: WSU finished third in the nation academically spring semester 2003 (3.5)...Cougars finished second in the fall of 2002 with a GPA of 3.533.

UP NEXT: The Cougars remain at home until February 2...the team hosts Nevada, Saturday, Jan. 24 in a dual meet at Gibb Pool...competition begins at 11 a.m.
