LONG BEACH, Calif.- The Washington State men's golf team closed out the fall season Friday, Nov. 4, with their third top-3 finish of the year. The Cougars finished with three men in the top-20 at the Del Walker Intercollegiate held at the par-71 6,633 yard Virginia Country Club.

Junior Chris Collins shot a 3-under 210 to finish the day in seventh place. The South Dakota native started the third round in a tie for 12th but climbed his way up 5 spots after shooting a low round of 68. Collins' third round score tied the lowest round of the day. The seventh place finish marks Collins' third top-10 finish of the season. Collins' other two top-10 finishes came at the Northwest Collegiate (T4th) and at the Mackenzie Invitational (T10th).

Redshirt junior Jordan Madison also found himself in the top 10 finishing just one spot behind teammate Chris Collins in a two-way tie for eighth (67-72-72 -- 211, +2). This marks Madison's second top-10 finish of the season and his eighth top-10 as a Cougar. He currently sits tied for fourth with Isaac Woods on WSU's all-time list for top-10 finishes.

Climbing his way up the charts, sophomore Jordan Mason shot a 69 in the third round to move him up 10 spots ending the tournament in a four-way tie for 20th. The top-20 finish marks Mason's third of the season. Junior Kevin Chen finished the final round knotted in a four-way tie for 40th (75-71-76 -- 222, +5).

The Cougars took third place with a final score of 1-over 853. Lamar, the 2004 tournament champion, took the title once again with a commanding 17 shot lead at 21-under 831. The Cougars finished third at two other tournaments this season, the Northwest Collegiate and the Cardinal Intercollegiate.

Freshman Max Reinland, who competed as an individual, moved up three spots during the third round to end the tournament tied for 48th at 12-over 225. Rounding out the Cougar scoring, redshirt junior Chad Carlson finished in a three-way tie for 56th after climbing up nine spots during the final round.

The Cougars finished up their fall season with four top-10 finishes. They return to action in February when they will host the Inland Cup.
