TEMPE, Ariz. - Freshman Jocelyn Jeffers headed home the game-winning goal at 107:02 as Washington State rallied past Arizona State 2-1 in Pac-12 women's soccer, Friday.

With the victory, the Cougars (11-6-2, 5-3-1 Pac-12) broke a two-match losing streak. The Sun Devils (6-11-0, 2-7-0 Pac-12) lost for the fourth-straight outing.

The goal for Jeffers was her team-leading seventh of the season. Senior Jacquelyn Roth started the sequence when she won a battle on the sideline in front of the Cougar bench to keep the ball in play. Sophomore Delaney Zalud gained control and sent a cross to the far post where Jeffers outjumped a Sun Devil defender and put the ball in the back of the net.

Trailing 1-0, Washington State notched the equalizer on an unassisted goal by senior Tiara Pittman in the 52nd minute. The Spokane, Wash., native beat two Arizona State defenders off the dribble and beat the Sun Devils' goalkeeper Alyssa Gillmore. Pittman's goal came 1:17 after Jessica DeLeon scored for the Sun Devils.

"In the first half, I thought we played really well and our endeavor was not rewarded," Washington State Matt Potter said. "Arizona State deserved to go up a goal in the second half and the response from our team was magnificent. Tiara (Pittman) was a spark for us all night. The support we had from our alumnae, family and friends made it feel almost like we were at home. Thank you to our fans."

Washington State completes its road trip with an 11 a.m. match, Sunday at Arizona.
